CPSC urges consumers to immediately stop using the recalled power banks and contact Anker Innovations to obtain free replacement instructions. Consumers need to visit Anker’s official website to register for recall information and submit a photo of the recalled power bank, indicating the model, serial number, name, date of photo, and write the word “recall” on the product with a permanent marker.

At the same time, before receiving the replacement product, consumers must confirm that the recalled mobile power bank is properly disposed of in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. The CPSC recommends that the recalled lithium-ion batteries should not be thrown into the trash, ordinary recycling system or waste battery recycling bin to avoid fire. Consumers should contact their local household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center to inquire whether such recalled products are accepted.
