Snapchat+ Introduces A New Strange AI Tool

Snapchat+ subscribers love My AI, our AI-powered chatbot, sending nearly 2 million messages a day to learn more about movies, sports, pets, and the world around them. Today, we announced that we’re starting to bring My AI to Snapchatters around the world with all-new features:

Personalize My AI: My AI includes thousands of new Bitmoji options, plus easy personalization to make the chatbot truly your own. Create a custom Bitmoji for My AI, give it a name, and start chatting.

2. My AI in Friends chats is easy: add My AI to any of your Friends chats. Just mention My AI with the @ symbol and ask a question on behalf of the group. The chatbot will join the conversation when a sparkle appears next to its name.

3. Snapchat Suggestions – My AI pulls in recommendations from the Snap Map and suggests lenses of relevant lenses. For example, you can ask My AI about what to do this weekend or recommend a lens to wish a friend a happy birthday.

Send Snaps to My AI: Our community can send Snaps to My AI and receive a response in chat.

5. Snap You Back: With over 55,000 Snaps created by Snapchat every second on average, Snapping is a natural way for our community to stay connected. Snapchat+ subscribers will soon be able to send a Snap to My AI and receive a uniquely generated Snap in return, keeping the conversation going through images.

My AI is far from perfect, but we have made a lot of progress. For example, 99.5% of My AI responses comply with our users’ Community Guidelines, and include the following improvements:

  • My AI has been programmed to comply with Community Guidelines to avoid providing responses that may be inappropriate or harmful.

  • Implemented a new age signal using snapchatters’ birthdates so that the chatbot always takes their age into account.

  • We’ve added additional moderation technology that allows us to assess the severity of harmful content and temporarily restrict Snapchatters’ access to My AI if they abuse the service.

  • We’ve prepared to integrate My AI into our in-app parenting tool, Family Center, which allows caregivers to see whether and how often teens are interacting with My AI.

We’ll continue to use these early developments to make My AI safer, more fun, and more useful, and we’d love to hear your thoughts. To provide detailed feedback to our team, tap and hold any My AI response.

Happy Snaps!

Snapchat has an answer to the question, “What if Chat GPT was man’s best friend? “The social media platform popular among teenagers is planning to debut a generative AI pet. Yes. An AI pet — for when you need a companion. The news has not yet been confirmed by Snapchat, but apparently, the option is rolling out to Snapchat+ subscribers. SocialMediaToday and ZD Net both reported on the new feature.Twitter/X user Jonah Manzano posted screenshots that seemingly show the new AI feature. It uses AI — how, exactly, isn’t clear — to create a Bitmoji based on a real or imaginary pet.
The screenshots appear to show that you can create your pet and then have it show up next to you on your Snapchat map. That’s kind of neat but also doesn’t seem to add much value.
Ai Snapchat has been investing heavily in AI features for Snapchat, just like many tech giants. The social company even released its own My AI Snapchat chatbot, which was recently under scrutiny for potential risks to children’s privacy.More recently, Snap allowed its subscribers to generate Snaps by simply clicking the “AI” button on the right of the viewfinder. Of course, all these AI features completely remove any need for creativity when posting content. On the bright side, it’s now much easier to make posts on Snapchat if you’re a Premium user.Earlier this week, Snapchat silently released yet another AI-related feature that allows users to create “Custom Bitmoji Pets” SocialMediaToday reports that Snap is already rolling out pets to Snapchat+ subscribers. Some screenshots have been shared on Twitter by Jonah Manzano in case you’re curious about these new Bitmoji pets powered by AI.

Basically, you can tell the AI to create a digital pet, which will accompany you on the Snap Map. The only thing that involves AI is the creation process of the pet, so don’t expect it to suddenly start talking or answer your questions.

Another gimmick of the new feature is that your friends on Snapchat chatbot will be able to see you along with your digital pet on the Snap Map. This feels like one of those features that no one really asked for, but got, nonetheless.

Snapchat might be adding something new to its app and snap web: a smart AI pet. This digital pet would be like a virtual buddy for people who use Snapchat+. Even though Snapchat hasn’t said anything official about it, lots of sources like SocialMediaToday and ZD Net are talking about this feature.

A person named Jonah Manzano shared some sneak peek pictures of the new AI pet on Twitter. It seems like users can make a Bitmoji version of their pet, whether it’s real or made up, using AI. Then, the pet can show up on the Snapchat map next to the user.

Some people think this could be a cool thing to add to Snapchat. But others aren’t sure if it’s really useful. We already see AI in a lot of things, so adding AI pets might just be another trend.

If you want to know more about what’s new on Snapchat, there’s also news about Snapchat+ subscribers being able to send custom AI images.
